Discussion:
The AD Last Bind latency is above the configured threshold.

I have installed OM 2007 and now in my mail and in monitoring console i have
many messages like this:

The AD Last Bind latency is above the configured threshold. The current
value is 6.2,
The Op Master PDC Last Bind latency is above the configured threshold. The
current value is 6,
The Op Master Schema Master Last Bind latency is above the configured
threshold. The current value is 6.2,
etc.

So the first question is 6.2 of what? Minutes, seconds, hours?

I am sure that AD is working fine. When I start "AD General Responce Task"
manually, I get message: "Current DC bind time: 0 sec".

Why I have this messages in mail if my AD is OK?

Hi Frost''''IK,

The problem can be temporary, for example network load or load on your domain
controllers. Look in a performance view to see the average bind time, then
concider a override to configure a more suitable threshold.

I dont think that this problem is temporary, because I have now 1100 posts
about this from OM in my mailbox. They all has come in 4 days.

Due to "AD General Response Last Bind Performance Collection" counter my AD
response time is in the range from in 42 - 60 with infrequent peakes 100-110.

Is it normal?

I cannot find the counter "Average bind time", I see only counter from my
previous post.
It shows that my AD response time is in the range from in 42 - 60 with
infrequent peakes 100-110.

I do not want to correct threshold if it is correct. Does my AD has problems
with response time?

Hi Frost''''IK,

If you look under Monitoring/Active Directory Server 2003/Performance you
have a performance view named All Performance Data. Under there you can see
all the OP Master bind time performance counters. You must review your performance
and see what the threshold is in your environment when your organization
thinks the network and AD is ok.

OK. I changed thresholds to 17-warning and 25-error and messages finished to
come. Are not 17 and 25 too big to diagnose a problems with AD?

Hi!

If you are using Ops Mgr 2007 SP1 RC and are running with some other
regional settings then US you get this.
This is a bug that came with the ops Mgr 2007 SP1 RC. A factor 1000 is added
when the SP1 RC agent do the monitoring. if you run the "diagnostic" tasks
inside the alerts you see the right responce time values. Hopefully this will
be resolved when the SP1 goes RTM. This is priority BUG that is know to the
product team.

We run with Swedish Regional settings and get this and I know German and
Danish also have this problem. It is not with the AD MP but with the code of
the agent. Cause if you use the RTM version of AD MP and the SP1 RC agent you
get the same result.

I believe you are right. I have Ops Mgr 2007 SP1 RC and Russian localized
domain controllers.

Hello Uros,

Please post this in the new web based forum for ops mgr, Microsoft has recently
launched a new space at Microsoft Technet Forums for Operations Manager.
You will find it at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/category/systemcenteroperationsmanager

For us it was backups placing a load on the servers. (A little late replying
but maybe it might help someone else out there).
